TIps for getting more views on your videos

Youtube is undoubtedly the industry master when it comes to video.  The question is however, how do I get more views?  I’m going to cover some white hat ever green tactics that will work and you won’t have to worry about Youtube pulling your account.

1. Make sure your title is relevant. Youtube places a lot of SEO juice into the title of your video because it is supposed to represent the content.  Make sure it’s relevant and accurate to what people will be searching for and engaging to both the viewer and the search engine.

2. Search on Youtube for the phrase you are looking to rank for and use your video as a video response to one that is already doing well. Remember to check the auto-accept-video-responses to your own videos.  Whether positive or negative it creates interaction and ultimately more views

3. Link your video to previous and post videos (obviously after you create post video content).  This give people who enjoy your work a pathway to follow to get to more of your content.

4. Take advantage of your social media channels, and link back to your video.  Facebook, Twitter, and other social media channels are great sources of traffic to your Youtube videos.  Don’t upload your video twice, simply share the link.  If you find a forum site that is relevant it might be a good idea to share there also.

5. Tag your video with relevant keywords.  This makes it possible for Youtube and viewers to find you.  Remember Youtube is owned by Google and those keywords could help you in the Google Global Search.

6. Engage your viewership.  Don’t fall victim to the “if I build it they will come” delusion.  Ask your viewers for their thoughts and feeling about your content.  Remind them where they need to comment, like your video, and subscribe to your channel.  You’ll be surprised how effective this simple but useful tip is.

7. Comment on other people’s posts.  Become and active member of the community.  If someone asks you a question in the comments of your video respond back to them.  Never spam someone else’s video by posting the link to yours.  Simply comment politely and mention you’ve made some similar videos.  People are smart enough to find your channel.

I hope you’ve found some value in this information please feel free to let me know what kind of results you are getting from applying this simple techniques.
